BUSINESS leaders are being invited to quiz MPs about their plans for government ahead of the general election in a Question Time- style breakfast in Cardiff.
Hosted by CBI Wales and the South Wales Chamber of Commerce, the event at Uwic on April 16 is designed to give businesses the opportunity to engage with politicians directly and influence their thinking of the future of the Welsh economy.
The panel will comprise Wayne David MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State; Jenny Willott MP, the first-ever Liberal Democrat MP for Cardiff Central; Jonathan Evans, Welsh Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Cardiff North and Dafydd Tristan Davies, Plaid Cymru Parliamentary candidate for Cynon Valley.
The question-and-answer session will be chaired by Scott Waddington, chief executive of SA Brain and chairman of CBI Wales.
CBI Wales Director David Rosser said: “The forthcoming general election is of major importance to the Welsh business community. Any new government, of whatever colour, will face major economic challenges and difficult decisions. The UK economy has suffered a savage recession and the situation remains uncertain. I urge business people across South Wales to participate in our forthcoming Question Time event and discuss the political parties’ plans for government.”
Mr Rosser said: “As the general election approaches, it is important to have your voice heard. I would encourage anyone with an interest in the future of their business and the economy to come along to hear directly from political parties and to discuss their plans for government.”
The event is between noon to 2pm. To book tickets, visit businessquestiontime.eventbrite.com
