Duncan-Williams Inc., a Memphis-based financial services firm, is the new title sponsor of the Memphis Botanic Garden’s “Live at the Garden” concert series.

Duncan-Williams, founded in 1969, is a leader in fixed income investments and municipal bonds.

The “Live at the Garden” season kicks off June 5 with an appearance by Motown legend Diana Ross. Other acts set to perform include hometown soul great Al Green, disco diva Donna Summer, and classic rockers including Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon and Blondie.

Season passes for “Live at the Garden,” which marks its 10th anniversary this year, are on sale now for $175 and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets and area Schnucks stores, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.

Nationstar opens office

Nationstar Mortgage LLC will open a branch in Memphis in an overall expansion project that will bring eight new locations to the Southeast.

The company’s Tennessee locations will include Hendersonville, Murfreesboro, Johnson City and Memphis.

Its Alabama offices will be in Montgomery, Mobile, Birmingham and Prattville.

All of the locations were scheduled to open on April 1.

Fraud campaign cited

The Commercial Appeal won a Communitas Award for community service for the Memphis Fights Financial Fraud campaign. The award recognizes businesses and individuals who help others and foster the spirit of community. The newspaper partnered with the Memphis Police Department and First Tennessee Bank to educate citizens about the risk of identity theft and other financial fraud. The campaign, which also won a local VOX award from the Public Relations Society of America, included newspaper ads, a video and presentations to community groups by volunteer policemen and bankers.

Acquisition completed

Memphis-based Thomas & Betts said Thursday it has completed its acquisition of PMA AG, a leading supplier of cable protection systems.

The purchase price was about $115 million, the company said. PMA, based in Zurich, Switzerland, had sales of about $45 million in 2009. The deal gives Thomas & Betts access to additional markets outside of North America.

Learn bootstrapping

LaunchMemphis hosts a one-day seminar Saturday to teach participants how to put together a business plan.

The “Business Plan Bootcamp,” from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., will be held at 516 Tennessee and costs $40.
