Change I would like to see: Wouldn’t it be great to be able to debate any issue with others on an intellectual level and for everybody to be open to sound information that could influence their opinions? And — I would like to see more Memphians get involved in the community to make it a stronger and safer place.

Kelman-Lazarov Inc., a comprehensive wealth management and financial planning firm, was founded in 1979. Ron Lazarov, president, and Marty Kelman, chairman, have been located in Clark Tower ever since. The firm provides investment management on client portfolios and also provides financial planning for one’s retirement, education, 401(k) plans, as well as advises on separation/divorce issues and addresses insurance needs, such as long term care, life insurance and disability. We also offer the added services of coordinating with other professionals as needed to review wills and trusts as well as inventory existing policies.

Education: I am a product of the Memphis Public School System: Vollentine Elementary, Snowden Jr. High and Central High School. I also received a BA degree in history from the University of Virginia in 1973, a M.Ed. in counseling in 1976, and an MBA in Finance in 1981, both advance degrees from the University of Memphis.
Personal: I have been married to Dr. Dale Kelman, a clinical psychologist, for more than 30 years. We have a 25-year-old son, Alex, who recently graduated from the University of Virginia and just completed seven months of travel in Argentina.
Civic involvement:I am currently on the national Board of Trustees for Facing History & Ourselves as well serving as Regional Chair for the Memphis chapter. I am also serving as a member of the Memphis Holocaust Memorial Committee. I have served as a former board member for Leadership Memphis, Ridgeway Country Club; President of the Board of Trustees for Lausanne Collegiate School; Board of Trustees of Leadership Memphis; Director of the Epilepsy Foundation, Chairman of the Memphis Youth Guidance Commission, an advisory member of the Memphis Junior League, and Past President of Memphis International Association of Financial Planning.
